Today wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be. There wasn't a whole lot of attention to the holiday at work, probably because of the fact that most of the business we do is for those who don't have relationships--at least not happy ones I suppose--and most of the people still working around here are... Well, not much for the concept of romance, I suppose.
There was one surprise, though. I don't bother to close my office door when I'm wandering the building, so that people can leave notes or work should they need me to do it, so it's not unusual for me to discover that someone's been in my office while I was away. What was unusual was that, instead of a new stack of files on my desk, there was a flower. A rose, to be precise... I spent all day thinking about it.
No one else received such a gift, so I know that it wasn't some gesture from the company, and I don't have any real friends outside of work, so I know it must have been someone in the building. Considering the people themselves, the ones I know at least, there's only one real probability. Of course, my suspicions only serve to bring up more questions, the first one being why, which I know is a stupid question, and could have a lot of simple answers. Which leads to the second, more defined question: what does it mean? It could mean anything, really. Whatever this means, I won't know until my suspicions are confirmed, and even then I'm not certain I really want to ruin the suspense for myself. It shouldn't be hard to find out some things at least.~The Following is viewable to the public~
The rose is lovely.~The Following is still viewable to the public, because she forgot to turn the filter back on~
Now I wish I'd taken the time to make chocolates, like I normally would have. I suppose I'll have to make up for it another time...
